George's House 100th Anniversary

HELP US CELEBRATE THE 100th ANNIVERSARY OF ONE OF THE OLDEST VICTORIAN BUILDINGS IN VIEUX FORT, SAINT LUCIA.
CELEBRATING 100 YEARS IN:
This is the first of many installments as we head towards year 100 of 31 Commercial Street.
Papa George built 31 Commercial Street in Vieux Fort. I never met my grandpa. He passed on before I was born. Papa George is how I heard my dad and his siblings refer to him. I remember my aunts and uncles were a tightly knit unit who showed us love when we visited. We loved chasing each other in that balcony and watching the (Farmers market) bustle on Saturdays.
Papa George was a tradesman who built 31 Commercial Street. He traded in sea products, and spices. Papa traveled and his customers also traveled to him to do business.
We shared the space with many people who visited and boarded while attending school.
As we celebrate the Centennial of 31 Commercial Street, there will be community based activities where our neighbors and friends can celebrate along with us.
We’re excited as we look beyond year 100!!!
